In travel news for May 15th, 2023 we talk about Delta Airlines new Sync Exclusives platform for inflight entertainment.
Delta Air Lines has recently launched its innovative Delta Sync Exclusives platform on domestic mainline flights, with plans to equip 540 of its planes by the end of July. The Delta Sync initiative, announced earlier this year, aligns with the airline's broader strategy to increase SkyMiles memberships, enhance the inflight experience, and create new revenue streams through brand partnerships.
Coupled with the recent introduction of Free WiFi for SkyMiles members, the Delta Sync Exclusives platform allows passengers to log in using their SkyMiles number on their mobile devices. Upon signing in, flyers gain access to a variety of promotional and entertainment offerings. For example, passengers can enjoy a free trial of Paramount+ and access the service's full content library.
Delta's partnerships with T-Mobile and American Express also provide additional exclusive offers for travelers, with plans to expand the list of promotional partners in the future. In addition to these perks, the Delta Sync Exclusives platform features a "My Trip" tab, powered by the Resy platform. This tab enables passengers to book restaurant reservations in their destination city and explore travel content from Atlas Obscura, such as videos and articles.
Delta is also working on enhancing the personalization of its inflight entertainment experience. By the end of the year, the airline plans to introduce a Smart TV-like experience on seatback screens, which will remember passengers' progress in movies or TV shows from previous flights.
By the end of the year, Delta aims to have over 700 domestic aircraft equipped with Free WiFi and the Delta Sync Exclusives platform. The airline's ultimate goal is to bring this innovative platform and high-speed WiFi to its entire global fleet by the end of 2024, transforming the inflight experience for travelers worldwide.
