AmaWaterways to Debut a Gastronomic Journey, 'Flavors of Burgundy', in 2024

In perfect sync with the National Wine Day on May 25, AmaWaterways, the award-winning Luxury River Cruise line, has revealed its newest French itinerary, 'Flavors of Burgundy'. This exciting venture is set to launch in 2024, treating guests to a sumptuous voyage along the Saone River, visiting France's most prestigious Vineyards.

This news coincides with the announcement of the line-up of eminent wine hosts who will usher guests on AmaWaterways' 2023 and 2024 series of 'Celebration of Wine River Cruises'. Over 60 hosted departures each year are designed to give guests a deeper understanding of Europe's culinary delights through a unique array of exclusive wine and food experiences.

Co-founder and executive vice president of AmaWaterways, Kristin Karst, spoke about the increasing demand for these epicurean experiences since the launch of the 'Celebration of Wine River Cruises' in 2010. The growing interest in the world of French wines has led to the creation of the 'Flavors of Burgundy' itinerary, taking guests on a remarkable journey through the beautiful Vineyards of this famous French wine region.

The 'Flavors of Burgundy' itinerary promises epicurean travelers a captivating River Cruise journey between Dijon and Lyon. It highlights the distinctive French flavors of the Burgundy region, leading guests to France's most iconic Vineyards and charming châteaux, offering exquisite regional cuisine and delightful treats on board and at the delightful ports visited.

Every 'Celebration of Wine River Cruise' is hosted by a qualified wine expert from North America or Europe and features enhanced epicurean experiences. The hosts, including vineyard owners, winemakers, certified sommeliers, and wine educators, bring hand-selected wines onboard to serve during special meals, tastings, or seminars. Some wines come from the expert’s own winery, while other selections may be sourced from wineries located along the river cruise itinerary.

AmaWaterways offers more than 60 'Celebration of Wine River Cruises' in 2023, providing a variety of itineraries and wine hosts to choose from. These include the 'Taste of Bordeaux', 'Magna on the Danube', and 'Captivating Rhine' itineraries, which take travelers through France's legendary wine capital, Bordeaux, and along the picturesque Danube and Rhine rivers, offering a chance to savor the flavors of the regions and indulge in exquisite wine tastings.

This unique initiative by AmaWaterways represents a step forward in the Cruise industry, combining the joy of cruising with an immersive exploration of European culinary delights and wines, providing travelers with an unforgettable experience.
