A New Dawn on the Nile: Viking Unveils Its 2024 Sail Dates Amid Rising Demand for Egypt

In travel news for June 7th, 2023 we talk about Vikings ambitious expansion in Egypt

As the allure of Egypt's ancient grandeur continues to captivate global travelers, Viking, the esteemed Cruise line, has responded to the escalating demand by opening bookings for 2024 sailings on their newest vessel, Viking Hathor. This state-of-the-art ship is set to grace the Nile River starting from the summer of 2024, offering travelers an immersive journey into the heart of Egypt.

The 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, set to commence aboard the Viking Hathor, presents travelers with an opportunity to delve deep into the rich history and culture of Egypt. Along with a unique voyage through time, travelers can enhance their experience by opting for pre- and post-cruise land extensions. The British Collections of Ancient Egypt package, a five-day tour beginning in London, offers an intriguing overview of Egyptian antiquities outside Egypt. Alternatively, travelers may opt for a vibrant three-night pre-cruise trip to Istanbul, Turkey, or extend their adventure with a four-night stay in either Jordan or Jerusalem after the cruise.

The forthcoming Viking Hathor, designed to accommodate a comfortable 82 guests, is set to complement the existing Nile fleet of the Viking brand. This fleet includes the Viking Osiris, Viking Aton, Viking Ra, and MS Antares. The introduction of Viking Hathor reaffirms the Cruise line's commitment to meeting the rising demand for travel to Egypt and strengthening its position in the region.

Viking's expansion in Egypt is an ongoing venture, with the aim to establish a fleet of six ships by 2025. The Viking Osiris, which was launched last year, and the Viking Aton, scheduled for launch this coming August, mark significant steps in this direction. Adding to this robust growth plan, the Viking Sobek is currently under construction and is anticipated to make its debut in 2025.

This expansion speaks volumes about the growing appeal of Egypt as a destination among global travelers. With its unique blend of ancient history, stunning landscapes, and captivating culture, Egypt has emerged as a hot spot in global tourism, and Viking's continued investments and innovations are a testament to this trend.

The announcement of Viking Hathor's 2024 sail dates and the ongoing expansion of Viking's Nile fleet represent a new dawn for travel in Egypt. With a variety of itinerary options and a growing fleet of vessels, Viking is well-positioned to offer unforgettable experiences to those drawn to the timeless allure of Egypt.
