American Airlines Expands Winter Schedule with New Latin America and Caribbean Routes

Listen to this Article

American Airlines is enhancing its winter 2024 schedule by introducing eight new routes to Latin America and the Caribbean, solidifying its position as the leading U.S. carrier in the region. This expansion provides travelers with more options for winter getaways to sunny destinations.

Key Points

Expanding the Network

In winter 2024, American Airlines will significantly expand its short-haul international network, offering flights to more destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean than any other U.S. airline. The new routes will allow travelers to explore both familiar and new destinations. Among the new additions, American Airlines will be the only major U.S. airline serving St. Vincent and the Grenadines through Argyle International Airport (SVD) and La Romana, Dominican Republic through La Romana International Airport (LRM). These new routes join a network that includes more than 20 exclusive nonstop destinations from the U.S.

Increased Service for Winter Travel

To accommodate the growing demand for winter travel, American Airlines will increase its service by 11% more departures and 10% more seats compared to its record-setting winter schedule in 2023. Tickets for these new routes are already available for purchase on American Airlines' website their mobile app, or through your Travel Advisor. This expansion ensures that customers have more choices and flexibility when planning their winter vacations.

New Destinations and Routes

American Airlines' new winter schedule features one entirely new destination and seven new routes. Travelers can now look forward to exploring St. Vincent and the Grenadines and La Romana, Dominican Republic, along with other popular Caribbean and Latin American destinations. The airline's commitment to providing the only nonstop service from the U.S. to these locations highlights its dedication to offering unique travel opportunities.

More Options on Popular Routes

In addition to introducing new routes, American Airlines will extend the seasons on many of its existing routes to the Caribbean and Latin America. Over 98% of the airline's peak schedule to these regions will be operational for the entire winter season. Starting in December, American will also increase service on 16 popular routes, giving customers more options to travel when they desire.

Final Thoughts

American Airlines' expanded winter schedule for 2024 offers travelers unprecedented access to Latin America and the Caribbean. With eight new routes and increased service on popular routes, the airline ensures that customers can enjoy more flexibility and options for their winter travel plans. For those looking to escape to warmer destinations, American Airlines provides an industry-leading network that caters to diverse travel preferences.
