Disney updates mask rules for it's U.S. parks, Italy wants proof of your COVID status, and Alaskan Cruises return.
Disney Theme Parks
Disney has announced that they will reinstate indoor mask mandates for both Disney World and Disney Land. This mandate applies to both cast members and guests. Originally the House of Mouse dropped their mask mandate for vaccinated visitors on June 15. From a press release “We are adapting our health and safety guidelines based on guidance from health and government officials, and will require Cast Members and Guests ages 2 and up, to wear face coverings in all indoor locations at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort beginning Friday, July 30, regardless of vaccination status”. According to Disney, indoor masking also includes monorails, buses, and Disney’s Skyliner gondola system.
Italy
Moving to Europe, Italy recently announced that they will require that people have a pass reflecting their COVID status in order to access various locations such as restaurants, museums, town fairs, among other activities. To be eligible for the pass one must show that they have received at least one dose of a vaccine within the last 9 months Recovered from Covid within the last six months. Or tested negative within the past 48 hours.
Alaskan Cruises
Some good news recently for those wanting to try an Alaskan Cruise. This weekend two Carnival Corp subsidiary cruise lines are about to start sailing from Seattle for Alaska. On Saturday the Holland American Line will set sail, followed by Princess Cruises on Sunday Passengers must be vaccinated with their final dose administered at least two weeks prior to the start of the cruise.
