Windstar announces a once in a lifetime sailing, Viking returns to France, and Disney updates on the fiscal health of it's parks and Cruise line.
Windstar Cruises
Windstar has announced the longest Cruise in it’s companies history. Sailing in 2023 they will embark on a 79 day Grand European Bucket List Adventure! There are many companies that do longer duration sailings, some even up to a year. What sets this sailing apart is that of the 79 days, only 8 will be at sea, the rest will be in port at various cities giving their guests ample time to explore and enjoy local culture. On this trip guest will see such wonderful cities as Bordeaux, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and one of my favorites Seville. This is a smaller sailing, accommodating at most 312 passengers. Prices start at around $40,000 per person.
Viking Cruises
After 16 long months Viking Cruises has returned to France’s rivers with four new purpose built ships. Each ship has 84 cabins and can accommodate up to 168 passengers. According to the Chairman of Viking Cruises, “Throughout last year , we have heard consistently from our guests that France is at the top of their travel list, we are delighted that our river vessels are once again sailing this beloved destination.
Disney
And finally for all those Disney fans out there: Disney CEO Bob Chapek told analysts during the company's third quarter earnings call that he's been "encouraged" by recovery of the company's Parks, Experiences and Products division, with Walt Disney World's third-quarter attendance numbers reaching at or near capacity. For the 3rd quarter, this division posted a net income of $356 million. Both the parks as well as the Cruise lines are seeing strong bookings. So if you are thinking about a trip to a Disney property, I’d recommend that you start planning sooner rather than later.
