What are the mask rules in Las Vegas, how is the Delta variant changing things for visitors, and what Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is returning to Vegas?
Las Vegas Mask Mandate
We start with an update on the mask rules in Las Vegas. Currently masks are required for indoor spaces in counties where the transmission risk raises above a set threshold. Currently Clark County, where Las Vegas is located, is considered substantial or high risk. So masks have returned to Las Vegas, even if you are fully vaccinated.
Besides masks, the Delta variant is having an effect on Las Vegas. While the summer started off with much optimism, once the delta variant swept the strip many event venues have decided to make changes.
Las Vegas Vaccine Mandate
To attend most events in Las Vegas you will soon need to be fully vaccinated, or have a negative covid test within 72 hours of the event. To be fully vaccinated you must have had your final dose of the vaccine at least 14 days prior. These vaccination rules take effect for most venues around the beginning of October. And the rules can differ depending on the location or event. So defiantly check with your Travel Advisor before you go.
It’s not just shows that are requiring proof of vaccination, The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which is taking place this January, will also require proof of vaccination to attend. Now the good news. Guests at events with fixed seating for more then 4,000 people, who have been asked to prove they have been fully vaccinated will be allowed to remove their masks during the event per a change to the mask rules by the governor.
WOW Returns to the Rio
Talking about shows, ‘Wow - The Vegas Spectacular’ has returned to the Rio Hotel and Casino. Wow originally opened in 2017, and like every other show in Vegas was shutdown by the pandemic. This traditional Las Vegas variety show is fast-paced, family friendly, and features a variety of performers including artists, acrobats and dancers.
Kiss Coming to Las Vegas
And finally Kiss will be returning for a limited residency in the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino this winter. This is a 12 show residency starting December 29 and running through February 5, including a shows on New Years Eve and New Years Day. This is the first time Kiss has done multiple shows in Las Vegas since 2014.
