In travel news for March 3, 2022 we have mask rules updates for Disney Cruise Line, updated entry requirements for Saint Lucia, and a new “shortcut” for those flying United Airlines.
Following the Center for Disease Control and Prevention updating their COVID guidance, Disney Cruise Line is the latest cruise line to relax current mask rules. Starting March 11, masks will be optional for Disney cruise guests on most indoor spaces within the cruise ship. This follows Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean who all relaxed their mask rules as of March 1.
The Caribbean country of Saint Lucia is about to ease their entry protocols. Starting March 5th, fully vaccinated travelers can now provide a negative rapid COVID-19 antigen test or rapid COVID-19 PCR test taken within 24 hours of travel to gain entry. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers can provide a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test taken within 5 days. Travelers will still be required to register with the country in advance to upload all necessary information and gain approval to enter.
And finally, United Airlines is continuing to improve their check in experience. After a successful pilot run, United has launched a new ‘shortcut’ for checking luggage. To use the new service a traveler will need to check in on the United app, select the number of bags they will be traveling with. Once in the airport they can bypass the kiosks and use a designated bag “shortcut” location to complete the process. The new service is available in Chicago, Denver, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles., Newark, and Washington D.C.
