In travel news for August 24, 2022 we have another exciting update from Japan, good new from Disney World, and Carnival Cruise Line continues to update their health and safety policies.
Walt Disney World Updates Park Pass System
Walt Disney World Resort has recently updated their Disney Park Pass reservation system to streamline the booking experience. Travelers visiting the park will now be able to modify their reservation including party members, park, and dates, without having to cancel and re-book. This update applies to all tickets types. Disney has also improved the process for booking groups by increasing the the ticket limit to 30, up from 12. Park passes that were purchased previous to the change will be seamlessly merged into the new reservation system.
Carnival Cruise Line Revises Health & Safety Policies
Carnival Cruise Line is continuing to revise their health an safety protocols, the newest change will allow for unvaccinated travelers to self-test using an approved testing kit, supervised tests are still required on itineraries that touch Greece, Spain, Bermuda, Canada, or any other port off call that requires it. The measure requiring Travel Insurance will also be dropped for unvaccinated travelers, unless required by a destination such as itineraries that stop in Bermuda or Fiji which requires insurance for all travelers regardless of vaccination status. These updates take effect September 6th and apply to sailings of 15 night or less. Keep in mind that requirements for any port of call on an itinerary can change these rules. It’s best to consult your Travel Advisor before booking any cruise.
Japan Announces Easing of Entry Restrictions
Today Japan has announced that fully vaccinated travelers will soon be able to enter Japan without submitting a pre-departure covid test. Unvaccinated travelers can still visit, provided they obtain a Travel Visa through the Japanese government and submit a pre-departure negative covid test. The government is also revising the requirement that travelers be part of a guided tour group. The change is expected to start sometime in September, travelers will be required to book their trips through a travel agent, and the travel agent will be required to manage their clients schedules. Travelers that don’t use a travel agent, and are not part of a group tour will continue to be denied entry.
