In travel news for August 25, 2022 we talk about recent schedule reductions from British Airways, Uniworld dropping the vaccination requirement for river cruises, and Silversea Cruises new ship the Silver Endeavor.

British Airways Trims Fall & Winter Schedule

With London Heathrow Airport extending capacity limits British Airways has recently announced that they will be decreasing their winter schedule by 8% or approximately 5,000 roundtrip flights.  British Airways is currently reducing their fall schedule by as much as 14% through October.  The reduced schedule will run through March of 2023.  British Airways is not alone in reducing their schedules, many airlines including United Airlines and American Airlines have announced schedule reductions.  The reductions are to allow for the airlines to continue to operate under staffing shortages that have affected every area of the travel industry.

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises Eliminates Vaccine Requirement

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is the first river cruise to announce a removal of the vaccine requirement for sailings in 2023.  Travelers sailing this year will still be required to be fully vaccinated.  There is of course a catch.  Travelers will still be required to conform to the requirements of any country visited along the itinerary.  So full vaccination could still be necessary depending on the itinerary.
