In Travel News for October 10th, 2022 we talk about Delta and Chicago O’Hare; Frontier Airlines and Jamaica; and new Uniworld River Cruise itineraries.
Delta Airlines Moves to Terminal 5 at Chicago O'Hare
On October 12th Delta Airlines will move from Terminal 2 to Terminal 5 in Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. I know many of you in Chicago, or who have flown through O’Hare are a little confused by this; with Terminal 5 being known as an international terminal. The terminal is currently undergoing an expansion and renovations to increase capacity by over 25% and traveler amenities by almost 85%. With this Terminal 5 is seeing more domestic travel then it has before. The renovation will also see improvements to Customs and Immigration facilities, increases to security check points, and an upgrade to the baggage handling system. Delta will be operating at the newly renovated gates M2 through M11 in the terminals western concourse, and the sky club will be moved from Terminal 2 to Terminal 5 and will be almost 4 times its current size.
Frontier Airlines Adds Jamaica Routes
Frontier Airlines is expanding their Caribbean routes, which include three new connections in the Midwest. The airline will start flying into Montego Bay, Jamaica from Denver International Airport, Chicago Midway International Airport, and St. Lous Lambert International Airport starting in early 2023. What’s better is that these are supposed to be non-stop flights for those traveling directly from one of these airports, those flying to Jamaica from other airports will still need to connect though one of these three airports. This is great news for Jamaica who has been aggressively expanding their travel and leisure market and continues to be a leader for travel in the Caribbean.
