In Travel News for November 7h, 2022 we talk about Floridas next storm, a pandemic update from Bermuda, and a new River Cruise line in Germany.
Tropical Storm Nicole to Hit Florida as a Category 1 Hurricane
Florida is in the path of yet another storm, the subtropical storm Nicole is expected to make landfall on the east side of Florida later this week. Nicole is currently a subtropical storm but is expected to slowly gain strength and will hit Florida as a Hurricane 1 storm. The intensity of the storm isn’t the current concern, the storm is very large and will bring damaging coastal flooding, dangerous winds and heavy rain fall as far north as Georgia. If you are traveling to the Caribbean or Florida this week plan for delays and possible cancellations.
Bermuda Drops All Pandemic Entry Restrictions
On November 14th Bermuda will be ending all pandemic related entry restrictions. The Caribbean island will revert to the Bermuda Arrival Card system which was previously in place before the pandemic. The Bermuda Arrival Card is a digital form that travelers will need to fill out before arrival then present the filled out form to immigration officials when entering the country. There will be no fee’s or extra processing time associated with the system. Travelers that don’t fill out the form in advance will be able to fill out a hard copy, known as a “Pink Form” at the airport.
New River Cruise Coming to Germany
The demise of Crystal Cruises, once a top rated Luxury Cruise line, came about suddenly and surprised everyone in the travel industry. While the cruise line will be missed, the liquidation of the company has created many new opportunities in cruising. One example is the newly created Riverside Luxury Cruises out of Germany. The company has purchased the River Cruise ship the Crystal Mozart which has been renamed the Riverside Mozart. The company didn’t just purchase the ship but has managed to maintain most of the original crew so anyone who has traveled on the Crystal Mozart will feel right at home on the Riverside Mozart. Riverside is owned by The Seaside Collection, which aims to bring the same level of luxury available in their hotels to the new cruise line. Sailings will begin this April.
