Travel News: Disneyland, JetBlue, and Japan Airlines

In Travel News for November 16th, 2022 we talk about a new addition at Disney Land, Jetblue’s European expansion, and good news for those flying internationally within the OneWorld Alliance.

JetBlue to Start Non-Stop Flights to Pairs

Back in 2021 JetBlue Airways started flying non-stop to London Heathrow, due to its popularity the company had to expand service on this route.  JetBlue is now looking to target additional European destinations. The company has announced that in the summer of 2023 they will be flying non-stop flights from New Yorks John F. Kennedy Airport to Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris, France with flights from Bostons Logan International Airport to follow shortly thereafter.  This isn’t the only new activity from the airline, JetBlue has recently moved to purchase Spirit Airlines.  JetBlue has also expanded their codeshare with Qatar Airways to open up more destinations in Africa and Asia.

Disneyland adds Disabled Dolls to "It's a small world"

It’s estimated that any given time one in ten Americans is living with either a temporary or permanent disability, this estimate includes children.  Disney is taking notice and making efforts to be more inclusive in their representations.  Their latest effort comes from Disney Land in California.  The iconic “It’s a small world” ride has just received two new dolls in wheelchairs.  The dolls were added during annual Christmas decorating however the dolls will be a permanent addition and will remain after the holidays.  The ride depicts 300 costumed dolls repressing singning children from countries and cultures all over the world.  Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida, and Disneyland in Paris, France will be getting the new additions sometime in 2023.

Japan Airlines to Join American Airlines in Same Terminal at JFK

Japan Airlines, British Airways and Iberia will soon be joining their OneWorld partner American Airlines in the same terminal at New Yorks John F. Kennedy Airport.  Japan Airlines will be the first to make the move and co-locate with American in the newly renovated Terminal 8 which is expected to open soon.  The carrier plans on moving in May, 2023.  Having multiple airlines within the same codeshare in the same terminal will make travel easier for travelers making international connections at JFK.
