Viking Announces Paris & D-Day 80th Anniversary Voyage for 2024 European River Season
Viking has announced a new 12-day Paris & D-Day 80th Anniversary voyage for the 2024 European river season, departing from London to Paris with dates running from March through November. The special voyage commemorates Operation Overlord and the historic battles of Normandy, which served as the catalyst to the liberation of Western Europe from German occupation almost 80 years ago. Guests on the voyage will visit historic World War II sites in England, including the Churchill War Rooms and Bletchley Park, before continuing on to Paris to embark on a Viking Longship to explore Giverny, Rouen, and Normandy's American Military Cemetery and World War II beaches. The Viking Longships are built specifically to navigate into the heart of Paris, and feature an Aquavit Terrace, Viking's signature Scandinavian design aesthetic, and hybrid propulsion systems to reduce reliance on fuel while in port.
