This summer, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is investing over $1 billion in advanced Computed Tomography (CT) scanners for airport checkpoints across the United States. The orders include up to 426 base, 359 mid-size, and 429 full-size CT units from Analogic Corporation, IDSS Holdings, and Smiths Detection Incorporated. These state-of-the-art CT scanners generate 3-D rotatable images, enabling TSA agents to better detect explosives and prohibited items in carry-on luggage. The new technology will not only enhance security measures but also improve checkpoint efficiency and the overall passenger experience. With faster security lines and smoother airport experiences, travelers can look forward to a more enjoyable journey. The investment in these scanners follows the TSA's previous orders worth up to $781.2 million for base and full-size CT x-ray systems.

The luxury Expedition Cruise ship Scenic Eclipse II has been delivered by the 3. Maj. Shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia, and is heading to Lisbon for its maiden voyage. The ship will embark on an 11-day journey from Lisbon to Barcelona, with its official naming ceremony scheduled for June 3 in Malaga, Spain. The 228-passenger ship, a sister to the first Scenic Eclipse completed in 2019, features several new or enhanced amenities, including a larger steam room, experience showers, a salt-therapy lounge, and a bar with indoor and outdoor seating options. The Chef's Garden @ Epicure, an exclusive dining experience and presentation area, offers culinary classes for guests. The Scenic Eclipse II is part of the Scenic Group's plan to double its ocean cruising capacity in 2023, with the group also planning to launch the Emerald Sakara this year.
