The Scenic Eclipse II, a luxury Expedition Cruise ship, has been delivered by the 3. Maj. Shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia, and is currently en route to Lisbon for its maiden voyage. The ship will embark on an 11-day journey from Lisbon to Barcelona on Thursday, with its official naming ceremony set to take place in Malaga, Spain, on June 3.
Construction on the Scenic Eclipse II began in May 2020, and the vessel was delivered on April 6. This 228-passenger ship is the sister of the first Scenic Eclipse, which was completed in 2019. The Eclipse II boasts several new or enhanced features, including a larger steam room, experience showers, a salt-therapy lounge, and a bar with both indoor and outdoor seating options.
One of the ship's highlights is the newly named Chef's Garden @ Epicure, an exclusive dining experience and presentation area that can accommodate up to 14 standing or seven seated guests. This space also offers culinary classes where guests can learn how to make chocolate or partake in a Whiskey tasting course.
The Scenic Eclipse II is part of the Scenic Group's ambitious plan to double its ocean cruising capacity in 2023. The group, which owns Emerald Cruises and Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours, also has plans to launch the Emerald Sakara this year. As a result, travelers can look forward to even more luxurious and immersive Ocean Cruise experiences in the near future.
