The United Kingdom has announced the implementation of an Electronic Travel Authorization system starting in 2024, charging international visitors a nominal entry fee of £10. The new protocol is designed for individuals who do not need a visa to enter the UK. The Electronic Travel Authorization system, linked electronically to the visitor's passport, includes categories such as tourists, business visitors, and students, among others. However, the Electronic Travel Authorization requirement does not apply to British or Irish passport holders or those with permission to live, work, or study in the UK. Prospective travelers will be able to apply for their ETA via the UK ETA app or the GOV.UK website, with each traveler requiring an individual Electronic Travel Authorization.
