HX Ushers a New Era for Hurtigruten Expeditions
Hurtigruten Expeditions is undergoing a major rebranding and will now be known as HX, marking a new era of sustainable and Adventure Travel. This change, which begins in December 2023, will see a new name and logo across all channels and media, and the livery of the ships will also be repainted to reflect this change within the next 18 months. Hurtigruten Norway will also rebrand, simplifying its name to just Hurtigruten. HX will continue to specialize in offering adventure-focused, sustainable small-ship expeditions to destinations ranging from Antarctica to Africa, featuring some of the most sustainably minded ships in the industry, including the world’s first-ever hybrid battery-powered ships. The rebranding signifies a commitment to staying at the forefront of Sustainable Travel and expedition cruising.
Princess Cruises Launch Wine & Food Voyages
Princess Cruises is announcing two themed Pacific Coast Wine & Food Experience cruises on the Discovery Princess and Sapphire Princess. These voyages will bring together renowned wineries, the Wagner Family of Wine, and Jackson Family Wines, and will feature winemaker dinners, guided tastings, food and wine pairings, and more. The Discovery Princess voyage, sailing from Vancouver to Los Angeles, will feature the Wagner Family of Wine, offering wine discovery lessons, a Caymus Winemaker Dinner, and Nautical Wine Tasting. Meanwhile, the Sapphire Princess will showcase Jackson Family Wines, sailing from Vancouver to Los Angeles with day-long stops at several popular coastal destinations.
Holland America Unveils Fresh Fish Delights
Holland America Line has introduced the Fresh Fish Program, which will feature 80 types of fish from 60 worldwide ports in onboard dining venues and the new Morimoto at Sea pop-up restaurant debuting in 2024. Chef Masaharu Morimoto will serve as the Fresh Fish Ambassador, emphasizing local ingredients and destination-focused menus. This program represents a shared commitment and passion for fresh and regionally inspired foods between Chef Morimoto and Holland America Line. The Fresh Fish Program aims to expand guests' culinary options, offering a variety of fresh fish that are unrivaled in the Cruise industry, ranging from yellowtail snapper in the Caribbean to barramundi in Australia. This initiative will also enhance Holland America’s Savor My Catch excursion, allowing guests to catch fish that will then be prepared by onboard chefs.
