In travel news for March 17, 2022 we have COVID entry policy updates for those traveling to Canada & New Zealand, and we have an exciting update from the White House.
Canada today has announced that they will be lifting all pre-arrival testing requirements for fully vaccinated travelers starting April 1. Travelers will still be subject to random testing on arrival, but will no longer be required to quarantine while waiting for the test results. Travelers will still need to use the ArriveCAN app or website to fill out a pre-arrival forms. Even though entry restrictions are being lifted, there are still covid protocols in place. Proof of vaccination is still required to use public transportation, board an airplane, or even enter an airport. Unvaccinated travelers will still have to submit to testing on arrival, get re-tested on the 8th day, and quarantine for 14 days.
New Zealand’s boarders have been closed since the early days of the pandemic, and their closing remained one of the strictest in the world, but that’s about to change. Starting May 2nd, New Zealand will reopen to fully vaccinated Americans. Travelers will need to provide proof of vaccination, and either a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours, or a supervised rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours of departure. Travelers will also be required to take a rapid antigen test when they arrive, and again on day 5 of their trip.
Those visiting Washington DC will soon be allowed to tour the White House after being closed for the last two years. Starting April 15, the White House will start offering Tours within a limited timeframe. Tours will be offered from 8:00am to 12:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Tours are free to the public but must be scheduled at least 21 days out through your congressional office. Facemasks will not be required on the tour, but will be available for those that would like them.
