In travel news for September 7th, 2022 we have good news for European Air Travel, and updates from the tropical islands of Fiji and Barbados.

Fiji Relaxes Travel Restrictions for Fully Vaccinated Travelers

The tropical island of Fiji has relaxed entry restricts as of September 5th.  Fully vaccinated travelers to Fiji will no longer be required to provide a negative covid test before boarding their flight, and  on arrival testing has also been eliminated.  That being said testing could still be required if a traveler exhibits covid symptoms, travelers will be required to report symptoms on the arrival immigration form.  Unvaccinated travelers are currently not allowed to enter Fiji and fully vaccinated travelers will need to have an approved Travel Insurance to be allowed entry.

Barbados Relaxes Entry Restrictions for Fully Vaccinated Cruise Travelers

Many Cruise lines have been relaxing their health and safety protocols with a notable exception that the rules for any port visited can override the cruise lines policy.  One such popular island on many Caribbean itineraries, Barbados, has announced that they will be relaxing their port entry guidelines for cruise passengers.  The island will no longer require a negative covid test to enter the country.  They have also eliminated previous excursion limitations, so travelers visiting Barbados from a cruise will be allowed full access to the island.  Travelers disembarking from a cruise with the intent of staying overnight will still have to complete the Immigration Entry and Departure Form at least 72 hours before arrival.  Unvaccinated cruise travelers are not yet welcome in Barbados.

Lufthansa Reaches Deal with Pilots, Avoids Further Strikes

Lufthansa Airlines has previously faced challenges reaching an agreement with the pilots union which resulted in a single day Strike last week with more strikes planned.  It’s being reported that a last minute agreement has been reached between Lufthansa and the Pilots Union which will allow the airline to avoid a previously planned two day strike.  While there are no details on the agreement, what’s important to travelers is that labor disputes shouldn’t affect Lufthansa flights for the immediate future.
