Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is reinforcing its commitment to sustainability by installing the Leanpath food waste reduction system and expanding its vegan and vegetarian menu options. The Leanpath system, implemented on six ships since 2021, has prevented 13,156 kg of food waste and reduced carbon emissions by nearly 100 tons. Uniworld's validated sustainability targets also include a 50 percent reduction in food waste by 2025, the elimination of single-use plastics, and achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Sun Princess, Princess Cruises' Largest Ship, to Debut in the U.S. and Homeport in Fort Lauderdale
Princess Cruises' largest ship, the 4,300-passenger Sun Princess, is set to debut in the U.S. in October 2024 and homeport in Fort Lauderdale. The first Sphere-class ship will sail seven- and 14-day Caribbean itineraries from Port Everglades during the winter season of 2024-25. Before arriving in the U.S., the Sun Princess will operate Mediterranean and European cruises during its inaugural season, starting in February. Bookings for the Sun Princess' first Caribbean season will open on April 19. The state-of-the-art ship features exceptional entertainment venues, relaxation areas, and the cruise line's largest-ever casino, offering a memorable experience for travelers exploring the Caribbean's pristine beauty and crystal-clear waters.
