JetBlue Launches New York-Amsterdam Transatlantic Service

In travel news for August 30, 2023 we talk about JetBlue new non-stop service to Amsterdam.

JetBlue has officially expanded its wings across the Atlantic by adding Amsterdam, Netherlands, to its transatlantic routes. As of today, you can now hop on a non-stop flight from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Starting September 20, service will also launch from Boston Logan International Airport to Amsterdam. This marks JetBlue's third transatlantic destination following the successful initiation of flights to London in August 2021 and Paris in June 2023.

This opens up new avenues for people looking to explore Europe while benefiting from JetBlue's award-winning service. This new service aims to bring down high fares that have burdened travelers for years, especially in markets dominated by legacy carriers.

For those interested in the nitty-gritty, the Eastbound JFK-AMS Flight #2288 will take off at 10:00 p.m. and land at 11:35 a.m. the next day. The Westbound AMS-JFK Flight #2289 is scheduled to leave at 1:35 p.m. and arrive at 4:20 p.m. These flights will operate daily on JetBlue’s Airbus A321 Long Range (LR) aircraft.

The aircraft is built for comfort with 24 redesigned Mint Suite seats and 114 core seats. The cabin interior is sleek and spacious, promising a pleasant flying experience. In terms of pricing, U.S.-originating travelers can find fares starting at $499 for the core experience and $2,199 for the premium Mint experience.

One noteworthy point is the use of the Airbus A321 Long Range (LR) aircraft. This model contributes to noise reduction and other sustainability efforts. It offers the range capabilities of a wide-body aircraft but operates on the economics of a single-aisle plane. That means it's a win-win for both the company and environmentally conscious travelers.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol isn't just another airport; it's one of Europe's biggest and most pivotal transport hubs. With an annual passenger count of over 71 million, this airport serves as a significant addition to JetBlue's international presence. Plus, it's located just 10 miles from Amsterdam, making it convenient for travelers to start their European adventures.

JetBlue's new service to Amsterdam is set to shake up the transatlantic travel scene, offering a much-needed alternative to high-priced legacy carriers. With its focus on service quality, sustainability, and affordability, this is a welcome addition to the options available for travelers looking to explore Europe.
