In a surprising turn of events, Norwegian Cruise Line has called off most of the Norwegian Spirit's 2024 Alaska cruises. The affected sailings were to take place between July and September 2024. The ship will now serve as a 'full ship charter', a change in plans which aligns with a new division within Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. Named Experiences at Sea, this division incorporates full-ship charter events. To alleviate the inconvenience to affected passengers, Norwegian Cruise Line has offered a range of compensations, including discounts on future voyages. The absence of the Norwegian Spirit has reduced the company's 2024 Alaska deployment to four ships.
