Travel News: Global Entry, CDC Travel Advisory, and Qatar Airways

Global Entry is facing unusual delays, the CDC has added more countries to it's Level 4 Travel Advisory, and AirlineRatings.com has released the results of the Best Airline in the World for the year.

Global Entry

The trusted traveler program which was designed to expedite the customs and immigration process for air travelers, is facing an unusually high backlog of new applications as well as renewals.

COVID Travel

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has raised its Travel Advisory to level 4, warning against travel to Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, and Kyrgystan due to rising covid cases.  The CDC is telling Americans to avoid traveling to these countries.  Spain reopened to American Tourists in June and has been a popular destination.  Israel, the West Bank Gaza, and Armenia were raised to Level 3, advising travelers to avoid nonessential travel to these destinations.  Isrel was lowered to a level 1 back in June but rising covid rates have forced the agency to raise it’s travel advisory level.

Airline News

AirlineRatings.com has announced that Qatar Airways was voted the best airline in the world.  The criteria for this award includes age of it’s fleet, passenger reviews, product offerings,  and the commitment to keep critical long haul air routes open during covid. Qutar Airways also took the top spot for best business class and best catering.
